The Road Safety World Series 2020 will start from the 7th of March with cricket’s biggest names from India, Australia, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and South Africa will play against each other in a T20 Tournament.

Some Road Accident Facts in India:

“Road accidents account for 17 deaths every hour in India (data to be confirmed) and as you are reading this, there is a good chance someone has lost his/her life in a road mishap. Road safety awareness thus has become the need of the hour and what better way to do it, than through a sport that unifies billions of Indians.”

The legends of the game will be contributing towards raising awareness about road safety in India. The event has been organized by the Professional Management Group and the Road Safety Cell of the Maharashtra government.

The series is approved by the BCCI and Indian Legend Sunil Gavaskar will take over as the commissioner of the Road Safety World Series 2020, whereas Sachin Tendulkar is the Brand Ambassador for the same.

The first match of series will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai between Sachin led India Legends and Lara led West Indies Legends on March 7. The final will be played at the MCA Stadium Pune on March 22.

All the matches will be played across three venues in Maharashtra, India i.e. Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, MCA Stadium in Pune and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Where to buy the match tickets?

Of the total capacity of the stadium, 60 percent of tickets will be available online whereas 20 percent will be available at Box Office(which means that you can pick your tickets in person when you arrive at the event) at each venue on match days and the remaining 20 percent will go towards hospitality and sponsors.

You can buy your match tickets online from Book My Show. The ticket prices start at 50 and end at 500.

A part of the ticket sales will be utilized towards creating awareness among the people of the country related to road safety.

One of the World’s Fastest Men, Yohan Blake also came to India to promote road safety in India. He said, “I am aware of deaths due to road accidents in India, I am also aware of cricket’s popularity in the country and how people idolize cricketers here.”

Yohan Blake also said he is a huge Sachin Fan:

“Not many might know, but I also like cricket and I am a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar. I will make sure that I get to meet him and take his autograph during my stay,” he said.
