Pakistan will be hosting the entire edition Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the first time. Six teams will be playing 34 matches across four venues (Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan) between February 20 and March 22. The playoffs and finals will be played in Lahore.

Before 2020, all the league matches were conducted in UAE and a few play-offs matches and the final was conducted in Pakistan.

The first-ever edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was played in 2016 comprising of five teams, now comprising of six teams.  The PSL season runs between February and March every year (just before the IPL) with each team playing matches in a double round-robin format. Every team plays each other twice and the top four advance to the Playoffs (just like in the IPL).

What about the Playoffs system in PSL?

PSL Playoffs system is the same just like IPL, Where the top two teams first face each other in a qualifier and the 3rd and 4th placed teams face each other in an eliminator.

The winner of the qualifier directly advances into the finals. The winner of the 1st eliminator advances to the second eliminator to face the loser of the Qualifier. And then the winner of the 2nd eliminator advances to the finals.

There are no reserve days in case of any play-off match in which there is no result. A super over is used to find out the winner. In the super over is also not possible or the result of the over is a tie, the team which finished in the highest league position at the end of the regular season will be announced as the winner of the match.
